We have all dealt with road rage before or maybe even had it ourselves. We are all human, after all.

However, I have noticed a very disturbing trend every single day on a local road. In fact, I notice it several times a day. Which road am I talking about? Howard Gnesen.

It is located in Duluth and slowly runs into the Rice Lake area. If you are a local, you know exactly what I am talking about. The road is very windy and has a speed limit of 30 mph. However, it seems like nobody even follows that speed limit and think it is 45 mph or 50 mph instead.

I have lived in Duluth for almost three years now and I have never seen speeding quite like I have on this road. Like I said, I take the road multiple times a day. People are not only often speeding on the road but also tailgating if the car in front of them isn't speeding. It gets so bad at times that I have seen many close calls of rear ending. I even saw a very scary car crash on the road, too.

I am not sure what it is about the road that makes people think of it as a speedway rather than a street with a lower speed limit. Maybe it is because it is windy or out of the city center. Either way, speeding on this road is a problem. (Speeding has also been a problem during the pandemic, so maybe that is a factor here.)

If you take this road at any point now or in the future, please just slow down. We will all get to our destination and that way, we will get there safely.
