My birthday was last week and it was a great one.  I got some pretty cool gifts, and my wife likes to surprise me with nerdy stuff that I like.   For example she bought me this Jedi Starfighter lego set.  (It was something me and our son could build together.)  She also got me a new t-shirt.

A little back story here, she's already bought me several Star Wars, and Star Trek t-shirts.   I've worn those because everyone likes Star Wars.  It's pretty well tolerated by people who even aren't nerds.  I'd go as far to say that it's "cool" to be a Star Wars fan.

So then there is this other show... Battlestar Galactica.  I really got into the re-imagined series that ran on Syfy channel a few years ago.  There's even an online MMO game that I play.  My wife thought it would be cool to get me a Battlestar Galactica t-shirt.  Seriously, that was SO thoughtful of her.

But now it's been a week and she keeps asking me why I don't wear it.  It's because it's just too nerdy to wear, and I'll never live it down with my friends and co workers.  It's not even really relevant anymore either.  Battlestar Galactica is like a second tier of the nerd pyramid.   And for me, second tier is too much for public.
