The Minnesota DNR wants to remind you that the ice house removal deadline is coming up quick. For those south of the "line" it's as early as March 4th. It may feel like we have plenty of winter left with all the snow and below average temperatures, but the houses need to come off.

The line for determining the dates is from US Highway 10, east along Highway 34 to Minnesota Highway 200, east along Highway 200 to US Highway 2, and along Highway 2 to the MInnesota-Wisconsin Border.

Anything south of that line, the houses need to be off by March 4th. Anything North has until March 18th.

If you fail to remove your ice house in time you could be fined, your house and contents could be confiscated, or destroyed by a conservation officer.
