A number of different bridge inspection projects will close a variety of ramps along the I-35 corridor in Duluth the week of April 20.  The Minnesota Department of Transportation is working to get the word out to drivers to expect closures and detours.

Here's the breakdown by affected date:

  • Monday, April 20:  The ramps from northbound I-35 to eastbound I-535 and from southbound Highway 53 ti eastbound I-535 will close for inspection.  There will be a posted detour.
  • Tuesday, April 21:  Ramps from westbound I-535 to southbound I-35 and northbound Highway 53 will close for inspection.  A detour will be posted.
  • Wednesday, April 22:  Right lane closures will occur on southbound Highway 53 to I-35 / I-535. Southbound Highway 53 to southbound I-35 and Highway 53 to southbound I-535 will close.  A detour will be posted.
