It's been a rough winter season in the Northland already...even though winter hasn't even officially started yet!

We saw feet of snow as we kicked off the month of December and it has been snowing on and off ever since. If you're anything like me, you've been wondering where this winter season falls compared to others.

Thankfully, meteorologists at WDIO read my mind and answered this question on the station's Facebook page Tuesday (December 10th). According to their post, this season has been above average in terms of snowfall - by more than just a few inches!

Check it out:

WOW! We've seen nearly two feet above average and winter hasn't even officially started yet!

The Old Farmer's Almanac predicted a mild December and right about now, i'm not so sure I believe them. Ha!

With all the snow we've already had and more on the way, it is a good idea to brush up on snow emergency routes in the area. You can never be too prepared for Mother Nature in the Northland!
