If you are into that sort of thing, you are in luck because there is no shortage of haunted places in both Minnesota and Wisconsin! In fact, some of the most haunted places in the country can be found here.
There are even some supernatural hot spots right here in the Twin Ports! The St. Louis County Depot is famously haunted and the ghost of a young girl was even captured on camera there once.
Like I said, you don't have to go too far to find a haunted spot, whether in Minnesota or Wisconsin. Wisconsin seems to have even more haunted places than Minnesota, especially when it comes to hotels.

This Green Bay haunt has only been around for a few years but its history goes back to the 1800s when the neighborhood started to take shape. So who haunts the hotel? Doctor Julius Bellin, who used to own the home. He is said to still reside there in spirit and makes his presence known in the very early morning.
Best Western The Hotel Chequamegon - Ashland
Who knew a Best Western would be among the haunted? Staff are certain this one is with the most activity being reported in rooms 312 and 314. A man that wears a top hat is rumored to roam the halls and things like moving furniture, creaking ceilings and random bottles breaking are a few of the things that come with a fun night stay there.
Big River Inn - Genoa
In terms of haunted locations, this one flies under the radar. The Big River Inn was built in 1896 and is reportedly haunted by the former owner. The ghost stomps around the basement and like so many other ghosts, turns lights on and off. He definitely makes his presence known.
Brumder Mansion Bed & Breakfast & Theater - Milwaukee
This bed and breakfast is so famously haunted, they even hold paranormal investigations there. The home was built in 1910 and according to paranormal investigators, has three well-known spirits that haunt those brave enough to stay for the night.
Four Seasons Resort - Pembine
Have you ever heard of a fancy Four Seasons resort being haunted? Now you have! According to Travel Wisconsin, it was built in 1905 and used to be a popular hangout for Al Capone, hence the hauntings. They often have paranormal investigators visiting the spot so sleep here at your own risk.
Franklin Street Inn Bed and Breakfast - Appleton
Details on this allegedly haunted bed and breakfast are mum but according to wisconsinhauntedhouses.com, there is a ghost in a maid costume that roams the ground floor. Other reports say it is haunted by patients of an old rehabilitation facility that was housed there once upon a time.
Hotel Mead And Conference Center - Wisconsin Rapids
This doesn't look like your typical haunted hotel but according to many, it has a gory history. Although unconfirmed, Wisconsin folklore says a bartender was murdered in the basement decades ago and now, she haunts that very spot by flickering lights and shutting doors.
Hotel Retlaw - Fon du Lac
This gorgeous hotel opened one century ago and although it doesn't look haunted due to its modern nature, it is supposedly haunted by the founder, Walter Schroeder. Reports say he haunts the place by sending ice and cups flying. If you want the best haunt possible, Room #717 is famous for hair pulling, screaming sounds and faucets turning on by themselves. Yikes.
Lake Of The Torches Resort Casino - Lac du Flambeau
Here's another supposedly haunted spot in the form of a casino. While this spot is definitely not known just for being haunted, it still has two ghosts, according to legend. One woman ghost has been spotted there, along with another ghost that haunts those cleaning the bingo hall. At least you can also have a little fun gambling, no?
Menominee Casino Resort - Keshena
This might be one of the most shocking haunted places you can stay in Wisconsin and the reason why it is haunted is even spookier! Legend has it that the casino is haunted by three children who were seen playing on security cameras in a restricted area. However, when employees went to go see the kids, there was no one there.
Old Baraboo Inn - Baraboo
This hotel knows it is haunted and runs with it: they offer ghosts tours and proudly welcome paranormal investigators. Like so many other places on this list, it is a historical landmark built in 1864. It's been nationally recognized as so on The Travel Channel and was recently named one the most haunted places ever, where ghosts like Al Capone take up residence.
Old Rittenhouse Inn - Bayfield
This historic inn is haunted by a tall figure dressed in white who takes up residence on the front porch, according to legend. The spot is often referred to as a "haunted mansion" so you know what you're getting into!
The American Club Resort - Kohler
If you're looking for a good scare, here you go! According to hauntedplaces.org, the most haunted part of the hotel is in the east wing and Room 209 is haunted by a woman who hung herself there. Another weird haunting? A guest saw a ghost so clearly he was captured on security camera talking to it but while watching back, nothing was there.
The Boscobel Hotel - Boscobel
Search for haunted places in Wisconsin and you will see this place pop up frequently. Look into the history of it and it is easy to see why: it was built in 1865, burned down in 1881 and was rebuilt in the same spot a few months later. There are many different theories as to who haunts it: one is a 12-year-old girl who was found abandoned outside the hotel while another says it is a family member of the founder. Either way, this place looks spooky.
The Humbird Hotel Bar & Grill - Humbird
Not only is this hotel supposedly haunted but it also went up for sale in late 2022! The spot was built in 1869 and is so supernatural that even the Zillow listing stated that there are "supernatural" activities that happen to those that walk through the door. There's even been a shadow figure captured on camera.
The Karsten Nest - Kewaunee
This hotel makes no bones about it: this place is haunted! In fact, they recently asked people to share their paranormal experiences there as part of a documentary, with several people weighing in. It was built in 1858 and is haunted by two members of the Karsten family and a ghost named Agatha.
The Pfister Hotel - Milwaukee
The Pfister is the most famous hotel on this list, thanks to its haunted nature. A few years back, it was named the most haunted place in Wisconsin. The spot is apparently so haunted that even brave MLB players won't stay after experiences they'd had while in town. Televisions turning off and on and weird noises haunt you all night long. One rumor is that it is haunted by the former owner Charles Pfister but it sounds like there may be a few more ghosts than that!
The Union Hotel - De Pere
