Just in time for spooky season! A new study reveals just how haunted each state is and you might be surprised at how Minnesota and Wisconsin fared in this one.

The study was done by analysts with QRFY, ranking each state from the most haunted (Maine!) to the least haunted (Florida!).

To get the findings of this study, analysts looked at a bunch of different factors, including the number of ghost sightings, number of haunted locations, number of cemeteries and monthly Google searches about haunted locations, all per about 100K people.

Sadly, I thought we were a bit more haunted in our neck of the woods. According to this study and its findings, we definitely aren't. We aren't even close!

Wisconsin came in at number 25, meaning there are some haunted sights and encounters but lying somewhere in the middle means it's a pretty even-keeled state when it comes to all things spooky.

Minnesota fared even worse! Minnesota came in at number 44 on this list. I thought Minnesota would have done a little bit better, especially because there are so many well-known haunted places here.

I used to live in Wyoming and there were SO many haunted places. I definitely would not have ever expected Maine to be the most haunted state in the country. How interesting! And again, just in time for spooky season.
