A country icon (to say the least) recently spent the holiday weekend fishing in our neck of the woods and anglers will be jealous by his catch!

If you are a big fan of country music or Hank Williams Jr., you know that he loves to spend at least one weekend a year fishing in Minnesota.

He has kept the tradition alive and well over the past few years and it appears this year is no different!

Hank Williams Jr. Continues Minnesota Fishing Tradition

Just like clockwork, the country legend shared a photo from his Memorial Day weekend - holding quite the fish! He went walleye fishing over the holiday weekend.

He happily posed with a fish, just like anglers everywhere. While he didn't share the exact lake he was on, many hopped in the comments writing that it was indeed Mille Lacs Lake that he was fishing on.

Others wrote that it looked like Lake Of The Woods. A local weighed in on the topic in the comments section, saying he was indeed in Minnesota and he recognized it from fishing in the same area the weekend prior.

Hank Williams Jr. Will Be Back In Minnesota Soon!

You can bet on the fact that he will be out on the lake later this year - he is headlining a show at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand! He's headlining the show along with his friend and fellow music icon Marty Stuart.

The show is on Wednesday, August 27th and you can get tickets right now. Like I said, I bet he will be out on the water in some way, shape or form before or after the show.
