Exciting news for the City of Hermantown.  Centricity Credit Union and Hermantown Schools have partnered to upgrade a multiuse stadium and field for students.

The groundbreaking will take place at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 1, for Centricity Credit Union Stadium/Corey Veech Field turf.  Due to the pandemic, the groundbreaking ceremony will not be open to the public and will consist of the recommended 10 people or less in attendance.

From the Dick Veech Scholarship to having staff volunteer each year at the Hermantown Elementary School Field Day, this continues a strong relationship between the local lender and Hermantown schools.

In the agreement, Centricity Credit Union will work closely with the Hermantown Schools to provide financial education for the students, according to Doug Ralston, CEO/President of Centricity Credit Union:

“The credit union formed its youth program in 1963 with a deposit savings program at the elementary school, which created a sense of economic responsibility for the students and the credit union. Overtime we have continued to help when needed and have carried that sense of economic responsibility forward into our business model. We are very excited for the opportunity to be a part of this community project and look forward to the continued partnership with the Hermantown School District.”

Kerry Juntunen, Superintendent of Hermantown Schools, echoed his support for the partnership as well as their mutual commitment to prepare students for their future.

Production of the Centricity Credit Union Stadium/Corey Veech Field will continue through the summer of 2020. The date for the opening celebration of the stadium has yet to set as the future of the school year, and the immediate future of high school sports, remain in flux due to the pandemic.
