Here's a reason to celebrate: a city in Wisconsin was just named the very best place to live in the country right now. That's right! Out of all the cities in the entire United States, it is a popular spot in Wisconsin that came in at number one.

U.S. News & World Report shared the full list on Tuesday (May 16th), ranking the best places to live in the country for 2023 and 2024. This list contains the "150 most populous metro areas" so places like Duluth were not considered this time around.

So which Wisconsin city snagged the number one spot? That would be Green Bay, who took the top spot for the first time. It has hovered near the top in previous years but this time around, it has officially been crowned the best place in the country to live.

The list ranks the most populous cities based on things like affordability, quality of life, the job market and the weather. It also factors in air quality, access to health care and other things of that nature.

While Green Bay has a ton of great qualities, the list cites its affordable housing, low crime rate and great air quality. There's also the city itself, which is full of breweries, outdoor attractions, museums and other attractions. Of course, if you are a football fan, there is also Lambeau Field. It is also near the popular tourist destination Door County.

Here's what U.S. News & World Report says about Green Bay:

Home to one of the most storied football franchises in the NFL, the Green Bay Packers, Green Bay has the perfect mix of big-city amenities complemented with a Midwestern, small-town feel. This city boasts a thriving entertainment and arts scene, revitalized downtown, and two college campuses, creating an energy that may appeal to young families as well as retirees.

Green Bay has also been named one of the best places to retire in the country, one of the cheapest places to live and one of the safest places to live. Green Bay certainly has it better than Milwaukee, which was just named one of the most dangerous cities in the country. Better luck next time, I guess!
