Georgia Gubernatorial Comes Under Fire For Pointing Gun At Teen in AD
Republican Candidate and Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp recently came under fire for a campaign ad where he is intimidating a teenage boy with a shotgun. He lists what he stands for, including a strong second amendment.
Personally, I don't find the ad that offensive. Except for one thing: I don't like how he's handling the gun. I'm not sure if he's actually pointing it at the teen or not, but gun safety always says to never point a gun at anyone even if it isn't loaded. That's not a good look, Kemp. It also makes it look like you don't know how to safely handle a gun.
Given the climate on gun control now, you are sure to upset a whole bunch of people with this ad. Could it have been done a better way? I feel there are better ways to express your support of the second amendment, and things like this just throw more gasoline on the fire.
But, if the goal of this was for more press and more intention, then he's certainly got it. And it does not appear his is backing down with his campaign telling people to get over it.
What do you think?
