The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) has announced that there is a change in leadership taking place. General Manager Phil Humphrey has left the DTA, but remains with First Transit. First Transit is the company that is currently under contract to staff a General Manager for the DTA. According to the press release, Humphrey is a tenured transit manager, and moves like this are common when needs change in transit properties that First Transit partners with.
Rod Fournier, Assistant General Manager and long time executive at the DTA will step in as interim General Manager immediately. The President of the DTA Board of Directors Aaron Bransky offered words of appreciation in regards to Phil Humphrye,
"We thank Mr. Pumphrey for his time with the DTA and wish him well in future endeavors. We have confidence in the team in place moving forward."
Recently the Duluth Transit Authority made some changes to their fare structure. During the pandemic, the DTA has seen a dramatic decrease of 50% ridership. They've lowered fares for a single day pass from $4 to $3. 7 day passes have dropped from $17 to $15.
