Freschetta Gluten Free Pizza Review
As always, I'm in search of the best gluten free pizza. Since finding out I have a gluten sensitivity a couple of years ago, the only thing that has really been hard to give up is a good pizza. Many of the gluten free crusts just plain suck. They are like cardboard, to soft, too crispy, or impossible to bite through. So each time I'm at the store, I try a new brand in hopes of finding something worth paying the extra money for.
I noticed a new brand while at the grocery store in the freezer section on Saturday. It was Freschetta Gluten Free Pepperoni Pizza. It was not cheap, 9.99 for a large pizza. It was a little bigger than your average frozen pizza, but not huge.
I followed the instructions carefully on the box. In the directions, it says to not let the pizza sit on the counter while the oven preheats. Keep it in the freezer until the oven is hot and ready to go. Obviously, that's part of the process with getting the crust just right.
Not wanting to burn it, I set the timer for the least amount of time the directions called for: 12 minutes. It turns out that cooked my pizza perfectly.
The crust was the best I've ever had on a gluten free frozen pizza. It was crisp, tasty, and easy to chew. As far as the rest the pizza had a good sauce and decent toppings. I'll definitely be buying this one again, as it is my favorite so far in the frozen food section.
