On Independence Day some people think of BBQ'd hamburgers and hot dogs, watermelon and corn on the cob.  Most think of the fireworks displays and parades that bring the entire community out to the streets.  If you're curious where you and you family can enjoy these festivities here's a few of the local ones I ran across to share.

Let's start with your fireworks displays.  I'll give you the community and the time they are set to start.  That's tentative because it will need to be dark enough to see them.  Remember, you'll want to get there early so you can get a good spot to cozy up and enjoy!

Those on the Range will be enjoying their fireworks display on July 4th Eve: (July 3)

Gilbert:  Arcelor-Mittal mining hill at 10:00

Nashwauk:  Southeast end of the dump at dark

Eveleth:  Thunder Over Eveleth at 10:15

Virginia:  at dusk

On July 4th, Independence Day,  Duluth and the surrounding area:

Duluth: Bayfront Festival Park at 10:10

Home of the Lumberjacks, Cloquet:  St. Louis River, 10:10

Moose Lake:  City Park at 10:00

Superior: Head of the Lakes Fairgrounds at dusk

On the North Shore:

Two Harbors:  Agate Bay at 10:00

As for your parades, remember a lawn chair or blanket to sit on and a bag to keep the candy in if the parade your at still allows the participants to distribute candy to the crowd.

All following parades will be held on Friday, July 4th:

Cloquet at 11a

Virginia at 9a

Superior at 11a

Moose Lake at 10a

Eveleth at 9:30a

Stay safe and have a fantastic 4th of July weekend!
