Watch How Officers Saved A Buck Trapped In A Hammock In Minnesota
'Sometimes this job can be unpredictable.' That's what the Forest Lake Police Department posted along with a video of their officers responding to a strange call.
The department posted the video on Monday of a small buck that got itself tangled up in a hammock in someone's yard. The resident called for help after noticing the stuck buck, and officers arrived to find the chaotic scene.
Where do you even start when you find a deer stuck in a hammock? That's what officers had to figure out on this call. They took a knife and duct-taped it to an extension pole.
Two officers then held the hammock tight while a third carefully sawed away at the hammock. After about 30 seconds of sawing, half of the hammock came loose. The buck jumped around for a bit before he finally broke himself free and ran off.

Next time you put up a hammock, remember to take it down, especially in winter when it's not being used.
A majority of the comments commend the officers for their quick thinking and for rescuing the deer. Some asked why the deer wasn't tranquilized. I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure police departments don't drive around with animal tranquilizers. That poor deer was stuck for quite some time, and this got him on his way rather quickly. Nice work, Forest Lake Police Department.
