Extreme Cold Returns: Here’s How Brutal It Could Get This Week
You better break out all of your winter clothes or even buy some more. That's how cold it is going to be this week.
We are, of course, used to the bitter cold here in the Northland but I don't think anything can really prepare you for this kind of cold.
The National Weather Service of Duluth issued a warning of sorts Monday morning, sharing a graphic of just how cold it is going to be over the next few days:
Note that the graphic shows wind chill values for Tuesday night. As of now, that appears to be our coldest night.
That's not to say the others won't be cold, too. According to the NWS Duluth, "dangerously cold Arctic air pours into the Northland tonight (Monday) and lingers through Thursday morning."
This type of cold can be dangerous and it's important you are prepared any time you leave your home. Make sure you wear as many layers as you can along with a hat, gloves and a scarf, even if you're just going to be outside for a minute or two.
It doesn't take long to get frostbite or hypothermia either so take the extreme cold seriously and get prepared.
Here's to hoping February is a little bit warmer.
