Volunteering can be a very rewarding way to give back to the community and perhaps meet new friends.  If you've been looking to get  involved and have a passion for the outdoors, Duluth's new Rapid Response and Early Detection Team is looking for volunteers just like you.

The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Department is looking for around 20 individuals who are interested in monitoring and removing invasive species across Duluth, as well as support/lead volunteer groups and track/report new invasive species using GIS tools and/or smart phone apps.  R2ED team members are asked to commit 3-5 hours of volunteering per month. This could be as simple as reporting invasive species on your nightly walk with your dog, or as much as coordinating a leading a group of volunteers in a Buckthorn pull.

They will provide the training and the tools you'll need to get the job done.  To get the full job description, click on this link .  If you'd like to apply right now, please click here.
