The Downtown Perk came back in a virtual way and will continue on zoom with a special message.

June 8th, you are invited to the latest Downtown Perk. Treasure Jenkins will be the keynote speaker. She is a board member of the Clayton, Jackson, and McGhie Memorial. Jenkins will be talking about the upcoming commemoration of the three men featured in a sculpture. She will also speak about the continued work of achieving peace, racial equity, and growth.

Many things have changed since that fateful day, but many things have not. The George Floyd death was one of those things that amplified the mistreatment and racial inequality that is going on.

Downtown Perk will be $15 for members, $20 for non-members. With your fee you will have access to the Downtown Perk meeting and will get a $10 restaurant gift card. The meeting starts at 7:30 am on Zoom.

The GDC's Downtown Perk was forced to be a virtual meeting because of COVID and they couldn't meet face to face, but turned out to work better as people could attend and not have to make plans to leave work or get a sitter in some cases. Times are challenging for businesses, especially small businesses, and local businesses. This is a way for everyone to get together and share what is working or ideas that may help keep that business afloat.

You can send an email to bjlind@downtownduluth.com and let them know you plan to attend, so they can send you the zoom info. Please include your first name, last name, the company you work for, and your address.
