Downtown Duluth will be full of the Christmas spirit over the next week and a half as several local singing groups go caroling throughout the area.

According to the Greater Downtown Council, there will be carolers on three separate days, beginning Tuesday December 10th:

  • December 10th, enjoy the sounds of the season with Denfeld’s Maroon 16. Their performance begins in the lobby at P.S. Rudie Medical Clinic at 11:30 a.m. Then they will travel via the skywalk system with performance stops at the Tech Village atrium at 11:45 a.m., the skywalk at North Shore Bank at noon, then they'll wrap up at the Holiday Center at 12:15 p.m.
  • Thursday, December 12, the East High Choralaires will be singing their way through the skywalk system beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the lobby of National Bank of Commerce at 306 W. Superior Street. Then they’ll move across the avenue to the Wells Fargo Bank lobby for a performance stop. The Choralaires will continue caroling as they make their way to the lobby of US Bank and then onto the Holiday Center around 12:15 p.m.
  • Wednesday, December 18, the Harbor City Honors Choir will be caroling.  They will start at the Holiday Center at 11:30 a.m. and will move through the skywalk, with performance stops at North Shore Bank and the lobby of US Bank. The Honors Choir will finish with a performance in the Wells Fargo lobby starting at 12:15 p.m.

When I was in high school, I spent two years singing in Little Mob, which was a group out of Duluth Central High School.  I know how much work goes into practicing and performing at events such as this, so if you have any opportunity to show appreciation for our local performers, be sure to head downtown.
