When it comes to cold winter weather, you can either dread it or celebrate it.  In the Northland, we choose the latter and the Cold Front Festival proves it.

The City of Duluth has announced that last year's inaugural Cold Front Festival was such a tremendous success that it's back again in 2019, February 1 - February 3 in Canal Park.

Returning again this year are the snow hill for sledding, fat tire biking, vendors, food, music, snow sculpting, and plenty of additional winter fun for everyone.

The festivities begin Friday, February 1 at 5:00 p.m. with the Luminary Hike Event Kick Off, which is a candlelight walk along the Lakewalk.  The sledding hill will also be open, along with bonfires, and you can check out the live music at Endion.

The Cold Front Festival will open at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2 and at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 3.  Events during the remainder weekend include:

  • Local vendors in heated even tent with samples, sales and popup shops
  • Sledding Hill, S'mores, Campfires, beverages for purchase
  • Local music
  • Fat Tire Bike Expo
  • Children's Museum activities
