We all know that winters are brutally cold in the Northland, and the Duluth Transit Authority wants to makes sure those in need of warmth will be able to easily find it.

The DTA has announced that they will now offer free rides to the Ruth House warming shelter, located at 632 Grand Avenue in Superior, Wisconsin.

Here are the details:

The DTA will provide free service to those requesting to visit the Ruth House on the first and last trips seven days a week on Route 16 between the Duluth Transit Center and Superior WI until further notice.  The Ruth House offers overnight shelter service when the temperature is 40 degrees or colder.  This new service is in addition to the free rides offered to the two Duluth-based warming centers held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and the CHUM Center.

The Ruth House is run primarily by Northland volunteers.  If you'd like help, call (715) 392-2833 for more information.
