Even though you fear this could happen to you, you're always shocked to hear when it happens at a place that you frequent, a grocery store, your neighborhood gas station or near your home.  You try to remember to lock your car doors, but vehicle prowlers are clever.  The Duluth Police Department are looking for your help to identify the suspect in vehicle prowl and theft this week.  Does he look familiar to you?

It happened on Tuesday, January 15th, the  Duluth Police were called to investigate a vehicle prowl that occurred in a parking lot in the 2200 block of West Superior Street. A purse was stolen from the vehicle and shortly afterwards the credit cards that were stolen from that purse were used at four stores in the Miller Hill Mall as well as at two local gas stations. The amount of purchases the thief used on the stolen cards make this a felony.

An image of the male suspect was captured by a surveillance camera at the Miller Hill Mall. Also, a surveillance camera at a local gas station captured the image of the suspect’s vehicle, which is described as a dark, four-door Oldsmobile.

If you have any information about this incident or recognize this individual, please contact the Duluth Police Department Property Crimes Officer Jen Mangan at (218) 730-5444.
