Sometimes you just have to shake your head and wonder what's wrong with some people when stories like this present themselves. The Duluth Police Department is looking for vandals who recently damaged the Union Gospel Mission and surrounding buildings.

The damage not only included graffiti, but also signs being ripped down and parts of the building actually torn off. The Union Gospel Mission's sole purpose is to feed and help people in the Northland, so the motive behind this is especially hard to fathom.

According to the Duluth Police Facebook post from Tuesday, October 19:

A staff member at Union Gospel Mission, located at 219 E 1st St, reported damage to the outside of the building on Monday, October 4. Damage was also down to surrounding buildings in the 200 block of E 1st St. Responding officers spoke to the staff member who said that the damage occurred between 6 p.m., Saturday, October 2, and 10 a.m., Sunday, October 3.
Damage to the Union Gospel Mission and the surrounding buildings included multiple signs that were ripped down, siding that was torn off, and graffiti painted on the building.
