City Of Duluth Sets New Date For 2022 Fourth Fest
Let's try this again! Poor weather forced the the City of Duluth to cancel the annual Fourth of July celebration this year but thankfully, the show will go on. There is now a brand new date for Fourth Fest.
The holiday weekend had great weather for the most part until the fourth, where in true Northland fashion we saw rain, fog and overall dreary conditions. Sadly, a bunch of other big festivities were cancelled for the day, including Superior's big annual celebration.
At the time of writing, there is no official word on when Superior will be holding their Fourth of July activities. However, when they pulled the plug on the event on the actual holiday itself, they reassured residents they were eyeing a new date and would announce a rescheduled date in the future.
There were a bunch of other local celebrations in the Northland all weekend long so hopefully you were able to catch some fireworks shows leading up the actual holiday! There were fireworks shows on both Saturday and Sunday within driving distance of Duluth.
Now, you have a chance to see catch some fireworks once again, just a few days later than planned! The City Of Duluth Fourth Fest celebration has a brand new date, with the event taking place on Friday, July 8th at Bayfront Festival Park.
The DECC shared the exciting news on their Facebook page Wednesday (July 6th), sharing more details about the event and what to expect. First and foremost, there will still be live music but with an updated lineup.
The music lineup will cover a wide variety of genres with something for everyone, from ska to acoustic music to rock and roll! The music lineup will now be as follows:
- The Crunchy Bunch
- Woodblind
- Fenestra Funk
- Boxcar
- DSSO Brass Ensemble
The event will still be free and open to all ages. Gates for the event open at 4:30 p.m. with the live music kicking off at 5 p.m. The fireworks show will start at 10 p.m. There will still be food and beverages and vendors so you can shop.
While things can always change in the Twin Ports, it looks like the weather will be perfect for the event this time around. There doesn't look to be any rain or severe weather in the forecast but mild conditions.
Fourth Fest is always a huge event in the Duluth area and that means that there will be traffic while heading to and from the event. Prior to the original date of the event, the DECC shared some super helpful parking tips to save you some stress before the big event.
