Everything To Know About This Weekend’s Big Minnesota Drone Show
Drone light shows have quickly become one of the hottest tickets in the sky, popping up all over the country as a quieter, reusable alternative to traditional fireworks.
Duluth got a taste of it just last month, when the 50th anniversary of Grandma's Marathon featured a show with 300 drones lighting up the night over the harbor.
Now, a show featuring four times that many drones is set to light up the Minnesota sky this weekend, and tickets are still available for both nights.
What Is The Space Chase Drone Show?
The DroneArt Show: Space Chase comes to Allianz Field in St. Paul on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, sending 1,200 synchronized, illuminated drones into the night sky.

This isn't just drones making shapes, either — the show tells an actual story, following Freddie, a playful alien, and Joey, a curious boy who dreams of the stars, through a cosmic adventure of planets, wormholes and characters drawn in light, all set to music.
The whole thing runs about 60 minutes, and it's designed for all ages — reviews from other cities where the show has toured average 4.6 out of 5 stars.
How To Get Tickets
Tickets for both nights are available through Fever, the event's official ticketing partner, and there are three seating tiers to choose from depending on your budget and your crew. As of this writing, here's how the pricing shakes out:
- Zone A stadium seating: $61.90 for general admission (ages 12+), $38.90 for kids ages 3 to 11, and $55.90 per person for groups of 8 to 14.
- Zone B stadium seating: $56.90 for general admission, $36.90 for kids, and $51.90 per person for groups — a few bucks saved for a slightly different vantage point.
- VIP field access: $80.90 per person (all ages) or $76.90 each for groups, which puts you down on the field with the best views of the show, plus a VIP snack offering and fast-track entry through a dedicated line.
Each ticket carries a $1.90 booking fee, and kids under 3 get in free. The stadium seats in Zones A and B are first come, first served, so the earlier you arrive after the doors open, the better your sightline. With only two nights on the calendar, waiting until the weekend to buy is a gamble.

What You Can (And Can't) Bring Into Allianz Field
Allianz Field operates under a clear bag policy, and the stadium actually encourages guests not to bring a bag at all.
If you do, it needs to be a clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag no larger than 12" x 6" x 12", a one-gallon clear freezer bag, or a small clutch or purse. Diaper bags and medical bags are allowed with no size restrictions, though they'll be checked and tagged by security.

Backpacks, duffel bags, grocery bags, large purses and large camera cases are all prohibited — and here's the part worth planning around: there's no bag check at the gates, so anything that doesn't pass has to go back to your vehicle.
Lastly, while you're encouraged to take photos of the show, the organizers note that professional camera equipment and tripods aren't permitted.
