Duluth East Advances In State High School Tournament; Duluth Marshall Wins In Consolation Round
A second period goal by junior forward Jack Kolar was all the Duluth East Greyhounds needed in their first state tournament game today. The Greyhounds defeated Moorhead 1-0 in their Minnesota Class 2A high school boys hockey quarterfinal game at Xcel Energy Center.
Duluth East (25-4) will face the winner of the Edina / Lakeville North game Friday evening.
In other action, The Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers rebounded from their loss to Hermantown with a 4-1 victory over Marshall H.S., keeping the hopes alive to take 3rd in the 1A section of the tournament.
