Another retail chain is folding up shop and closing all their locations.  Dressbarn has announced that all of their 650 locations will be closing, which includes a store at Miller Hill Mall.

Our media partners at WDIO.com are reporting that the company's chief financial officer, Steven Taylor feels that Dressbarn has not been operating at level high enough to succeed in the current retail environment.

They went on to report that its owner, Ascena Retail Group Inc., who recently sold Duluth-based Maurices, says it wants to focus on its more profitable brands. Ascena also owns Ann Taylor, Lane Bryant and other clothing stores.

No timeline has been announced on when the stores will close, but this is more bad news for the Miller Hill Mall who have already lost Younkers, Sears, The Children's Place and Evenson's Hallmark, and will also soon lose Payless Shoes.

It will be very interesting to see how the Miller Hill Mall reacts to these unfortunate closings and what the mall will look like moving forward.

I still think, based on the increase of hotels in that area, that a entertainment-based business, similar to a Dave & Buster's business model, should occupy a spot inside Miller Hill Mall.
