Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall notice for a limited number of their bagged salad products, sold under the Dole, Marketside, Kroger, and Salad Classics brand names.  The recall effort involves specific lot codes that the company has released to the general public.

According to details shared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the concern with these bagged salads is the possibility of Listeria monocytogenes contamination. A single sample of the garden salad conducted by the Department of Agriculture in Georgia yielded a positive result for Listeria monocytogenes in a random sample test.  Because of that positive test result, the company is recalling product connected to the lot numbers.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the product at this time.  Additionally, no other Dole product (or products manufactured by Dole) are included in the recall efforts.  Only the specific bagged garden salad products listed, that match the exact Lot codes, the exact UPC codes, and the exact Best If Used By dates are involved in the recall.  Here are the specifics:

  • Product Name:  Dole Garden Salad - 24-ounce size - Lot codes N28205A & N28205B - UPC Code:  0-71430-01136-2 - Best If Used By: 10-25-21

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is pointing out to customers that the product that's involved with the recall is beyond its "Best If Used By" date and shouldn't be on store shelves.  The directive from the agency and Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc. is to check your refrigerator for any of this product that might still exist in your possession.

7 Terrific Beers Brewed In The Northland

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
