The travel website, Travel & Leisure released a list of the best beaches across the United States. Could a beach in Duluth make the list?

My grandpa actually built a house on Park Point back in the day. Growing up with a beach as your backyard was something I could only dream about. I absolutely loved spending my days soaking up the sun (or getting severely sunburnt because I'm a sad ginger) and cooling down in the refreshing waters of Lake Superior.

Legend has it, when I was a toddler my mom bring me to the beach all the time. Once she set me down, I would instantly rip off my diaper and go running into the water wild and free. Now that, that image has been unfortunately burned into your head, let's move on with talking about the beach on Lake Superior.

Travel & Leisure released a list on the 25 best beaches throughout the Unites States. They tried to find the perfect beach destination from New York to California, to Florida, and everywhere in-between. The list consists of surf havens, family-friendly spots, rock formations, and places with water sport rentals. They also include many bodies of water like oceans, rivers, and lakes. The jist was to find beaches notable for their attractions, location, or unique amenities.

No shock, Duluth made the list with the Park Point Beach. Here's what the website said about it:

Located on Lake Superior, the largest freshwater lake in the world, Park Point Beach is the world's longest freshwater sandbar. The beautiful sandy beach, complete with waves, has the feel of an ocean. It offers great views of Duluth and Lake Superior, and is known for its spectacular sunrises. A nearby playground, barbecue grills, and a ball field are all popular with visitors. Leashed dogs are also welcome.

Two other Midwestern beaches made the list including the Oak Street Beach in Chicago and the Grand Haven State Park in Michigan. Now about the Park Point Beach; it definitely isn't perfect, but what beach is? I do love spending time there, however it does tend to get a little crowded in the summer. If I remember correctly, the last few years it hasn't seemed to be the cleanest looking.  However, it's still a beach I enjoy. Luckily my aunt lives in my grandpa's old house, so I still get some great beach access whenever I want it.

I do think it should be on the list as it is on the largest freshwater lake in the world, but do you agree with it being in the top 25 in the entire United States? Hey, I'm just glad Duluth got a mention!
