Dig In For The Downtown Waterfront Needs Volunteers
If you're looking for a volunteer opportunity that will help beautify Duluth, then sign up for this Wednesday's Dig In For The Downtown Waterfront event.
The Greater Downtown Council is looking for help planting flowers for the Downtown Waterfront on June 6. In past years, they have been able to secure about 60 volunteers for the event.
The Council says that approximately 110 streetscape planters are at Wheeler Field, just waiting for helping hands to fill them with flowers. City crews will then move the planters to adorn the sidewalks of the Downtown Waterfront this summer.
Throughout the summer, the Greater Downtown Council’s Clean & Safe Team will maintain the flowers.
If you can help, please meet Wednesday at 10:00 a.m at Wheeler Field, at the upper parking lot on west side of the softball fields. Make sure to bring garden tools and gloves, if you have them.
They would also appreciate an e-mail to let them know you'll be there at: tmcdonald@downtownduluth.com
