Dead End Hayride Back For 2021 Halloween Season
This could be a good sign that Halloween season will be back to normal later this year! One very popular haunted attraction in Minnesota says they are officially on for this year.
We all know what happened in 2020. So many different haunted attractions didn't happen because of the pandemic. While the pandemic is still going on, we have found new ways to adapt and go to events in a safe manner.
Last year, haunts like The Haunted Ridge were able to open but with COVID-19 policies in place. In 2020, the local event held COVID screenings for those wanting to take part in the haunted attraction and offered temperature checks. Mask mandates and social distancing were also in place. (By the way, they announced back in April they were going to be holding the event again no matter what!)
Thankfully, other local haunts were also able to open in a fashion we had become accustomed to come October. One of my favorites, The Haunted Forest, was able to hold their annual event. The Saginaw haunt even asked for donations to help those impacted by COVID-19.
The Poplar Golf Course also held a haunt, telling those that attended to social distance and wear a mask. And then there were the haunts that got extra creative, like one a few hours from Duluth which offered a drive-thru haunt experience. Spoiler alert: I went and it was scary!
Hopefully, all of the places mentioned will announce their plans for 2021 soon and will let us rest easy knowing that they are going to be holding the events once again this year. As for one of Minnesota's most popular hayrides, they are officially a go.
The Dead End Hayride shared the exciting news on their Facebook page Wednesday (August 11th), stating that the event was happening despite COVID-19 concerns. They even shared a schedule for the event for those that plan way ahead for Halloween.
It looks like things will kick off on Friday, October 1st. That is the best way to kick off Halloween season! According to their schedule, they will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Closer to the end of the month, they will begin opening on Wednesdays.
In true Halloween fashion, they will even be open on the Tuesday of Halloween week! I absolutely can't wait. The haunt is less than two hours away from the Twin Ports, located in Wyoming, Minnesota.
The haunted attraction can be found at 28186 Kettle River Boulevard North. They are also looking for people to work at the attraction come October. They have more details on that on their official Facebook page for those interested. Please don't dress as a clown!
I am looking forward to all of the Halloween adventures this year. Last year, and for a few years prior, the Haunted Ship has been scrapped because of construction and placement issues. I am crossing my fingers they make it happen this year.
