Country Throwback Remembers Keith Urban’s First U.S. Single as a Solo Artist [VIDEO]
With Keith Urban coming to Duluth, I thought it would be the perfect time for my Country Throwback to remember his first U.S. single as a solo artist. In 1991, Keith released his first solo album in Australia, which produced 4 singles. Then he made the wise decision to take his talents to the United States.
Upon arriving, Urban found work as a studio musician before starting a band called The Ranch. After a couple of modest hits, he went solo and hasn't looked back.
His self-titled solo American debut was released in 1999. It would feature "But For The Grace Of God", his first number one hit. However, that was not the first single.
"It's A Love Thing" was Keith Urban's first single off that album, and it would become his first top 20 hit, peaking at number 18 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.
Not only did he have his first solo hit in the United States, but he also got to shoot a video for the song. Enjoy some old-school Keith and keep listening to win tickets to see him at Amsoil Arena!
