The Minnesota Twins have partnered with CLEAR, the secure identity company, to provide expedited entrance into the ballpark starting with the 2019 season.

According to, Twins fans who have a CLEAR membership, or who sign up for free at Target Field, can gain entry to the ballpark at Gate 34 through a dedicated CLEAR lane.

CLEAR is already being used at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, but the Minnesota Twins are the first Twin Cities professional sports franchise to utilize the technology.

CLEAR technology uses your eyes, face or fingers as your ID, ticket, credit card and more.

The Twins promise that fans who enter Target Field through CLEAR’s dedicated lane will enjoy predictable, quick access to the ballpark.  If you're carrying a purse or a bag, you will still be subjected to a security screening of your bags.

While CLEAR will only be used initially to allow fans to enter Target Field more efficiently, the hope is that in the future it will also be used for additional services like ticketing and concessions.

This could very well lead to a day where you could enter the ballpark with the tap of a finger, instead of presenting a paper or mobile ticket.  Then, head to concessions to be scanned to buy food and drinks, with the scan simultaneously providing payment and  proving that you are of legal age to buy a beer or drink.
