A Beautiful Lake Found In Wisconsin Is One Of America’s Clearest
Wisconsin is one of the best states in America for water enthusiasts, boasting over 15,000 inland lakes and an abundance of opportunities for recreation like swimming, boating, fishing, and more.
Whenever you venture out, several factors likely come into play when selecting a lake to visit, including the activity you're looking to do, the size of the lake, its proximity to amenities, the water temperature, whether there is a beach, and more.
Personally, while all those factors are important, the one thing I always check before venturing out onto the water is how clear the lake is. I think most people would agree that even if a lake had an amazing beach and other great features, if the water was muddy or green, you'd stay away.
Wisconsin is fortunate to have many clear lakes, but a recent study was done to highlight 14 clear lakes in America, and one lake in the state stood out and made the list. It may not be a lake that Wisconsin can call its own, but its beach in Wisconsin has been named the best in the state.

The Best Clear Lakes In America
Boutique Adventurer decided to highlight 14 "beautiful, clear lakes in the United States", which would also make a nice 'must-visit' list for outdoor enthusiasts.
The one lake to make the list that can be found in Wisconsin is Lake Michigan. Lake Michigan is the third-largest of the Great Lakes, with a shoreline stretching across four states. It’s about 300 miles long, 118 miles wide, and 925 feet deep.
While it's true that the water quality of Lake Michigan is very inconsistent, depending on where you are in Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, or Illinois, people in Wisconsin have access to what has been named the best beach on Lake Michigan.
Schoolhouse Beach, located at 1824 Washington Harbor Road on Washington Island, is a natural beach, named for the old schoolhouse built near it in 1850.
It is generally considered a beautiful, clean, and safe location for swimming and recreation. Schoolhouse Beach is especially well known and loved its exceptionally clear water and smooth, polished limestone rocks.

Boutique Adventurer says that Lake Michigan made its list because of the wide range of available activities, including swimming at one of the stunning beaches, fishing and boating at the many marinas, and hiking and camping at one of the numerous parks along the shoreline.
So, if Lake Michigan doesn't come to the top of your mind when thinking about clear lakes available in Wisconsin, head to Schoolhouse Beach and you'll likely get a whole perspective of this Great Lake.
