I was kinda shocked yesterday when I realized that my iPhone has been counting my steps for years. Granted, it's only when I have the phone on me, but it was still a surprise. I normally carry my phone with me everywhere I go, so it does give me an idea of how many steps I'm getting.
A week ago today, I woke up and immediately was launched into blind confusion about what this new Pokemon Go thing was all about. A game where it gets kids out into the real world? What? Gotta catch them all? What? So to better understand what our 8 year old was so obsessed about, I downloaded the game. And I immediately started playing.
Pokemon Go is the latest craze, and it doesn't take long for you to find people walking around playing it. That's especially true near the Lake Superior zoo. The Zoo is a Pokestop, which is a place you go as part of the game. This Saturday, the zoo invites players to come and catch their Pokemon characters in a safe and friendly environment.
My daughter who is now 22 was into Pokemon years ago. I'm still holding on to the Pokemon coin that she had hoped would be a collectors item someday. Well, here's an interesting topic. I know that even when Mother Nature calls, some people refuse to poop at work for various reasons. This new app may make those people think twice about it because, why pinch a loaf at home for nothing when you can get paid to do it at work?
If you're anything like me, you've found yourself on a flight or two looking out of a plane window at the vast scenic expanse below, wondering where you are or what you're looking at. Thanks to the inventive mind of a former University of Minnesota Duluth student, getting answers to those curiosities just got a lot easier.
I don't know if I would be flattered or completely creeped out if I was Scarlett Johansson. This guy spent a year and a half designing this life like robot. He hasn't said he had Scarlett in mind, but other people are claiming it. By looking at it, I think it's pretty obvious. Watch the video for yourself and see if you think it's cool or if it's just disturbing.
I was visiting a friend the other day and as we walked up the stairs I commented on the odd shape of her light bulb. She said that she had just put it in and as she turned it on, it flashed on and off in a very deliberate way. We wondered why and she tried it again and again. Each time, it flashed twice. Have you seen this?
Many people have been asking questions like "what's wrong with my phone?" or "did I forget to pay my bill?" The good news is that it isn't just your phone. The bad news is that yes, it is an issue around the region.
