I have always been a big fan of Brian Williams.  I thought he did a great job on the Nightly News.  I remember him from when he was just a reporter that would sit in with the legendary Tom Brokaw.  It really sucked when we found out that he had gotten caught up in his stories.  It's been tough to see his fall from grace.  NBC has given him a second chance, but not where he once was.

He's lost his chair (and 10 million dollar) salary at the anchor desk.  He'll now report for MSNBC.  I'm sure he will be fairly compensated.   Lester Holt has taken over the Nightly News, and in this day in age it's about time we have a black prime time anchor.

I think this is a fitting punishment for Williams.  I don't think he deserved to be flat out fired.  It's obvious he couldn't return to the anchor chair.  He needs to earn America's trust back.  It will take time.  He does deserve a second chance.   What Williams basically did was get caught up telling a story.  He embellished.   Lots of people do it.  You could argue that weatherman could be at fault to when they get excited and get caught up forecasting a storm and end up being wrong.

Let's give him a second chance, like he is so grateful to have.
