Since the beginning of the Brian Williams controversy, I've wondered how hard it must be on his family.  Williams, who was called out for false statements, has been suspended for 6 months while NBC investigates the anchor's work.  His daughter Allison who is probably best known for her starring role in 'Peter Pan Live!' was recently asked by Seth Meyers how they are doing.  Here is her response.

Personally, I think we are blowing this out of proportion.  While he should be called out on the carpet for his embellishment, let's not pretend he's the only one who's ever told a story.  There is plenty of lies being told all over mainstream media that we've never even had light shined on.  Let's use this as an example in journalism to tell the truth and the straight facts, let's cut back on the sensationalism.

And there is the real problem.  Sensationalism.  I bet Brian told his little stories to try to make the news more exciting - to put an exclamation point on a story.  Consumers are the ones who drive the crap we see on television.  We want it, they deliver it.  Let me ask you this.  How many people watch Charlie Rose?  Not as many.  Why?  Because it's no frills and just the facts.  And it's probably the best journalism out there.
