It has been quite the few years for Michael Ray and it looks like it will be another big year ahead for him. The country star was kind enough to take a few minutes out of his day to talk to me recently and catch me up on what he has been up to.

He has remained tight-lipped about his personal life since he split from fellow country star Carly Pearce. The two divorced in 2020 after a whirlwind romance and wedding. What he has said about that tough time is that he grew quite a bit, keeping it at that.

Ever since, he's been looking ahead and creating music that is country at the core. He has also had a few career highs, including a number one hit in Whiskey And Rain. The song is a breakup ballad about getting through a tough time and it has a throwback country feel.

The song hit number one in January of this year and now, he is looking ahead and hoping to add another one to his list with his new song Holy Water. He joined me to talk about his new song, about the special number one and what he has been up to AND what's ahead for him.

Michael talks a lot about his new song during the interview. It has the same type of feel as his former number one hit and is a fun, tongue-in-cheek song that takes in Florida, where he was born and raised.
