It isn't even Halloween season just yet but Bentleyville is already kicking off their holiday season! They shared a very exciting update on social media this week which proves that the annual light show isn't too far away.

Bentleyville is famous in its own right, with locals and tourists flocking to the event every holiday season. Even celebrities have been spotted at Bentleyville, with a former Bachelorette visiting with her final pick back in the day! (Spoiler alert: they are now broken up.)

It is always the place to be and a photo Bentleyville shared on a Saturday in December of last year proves just that! They shared a photo of the crowd that night and all I can say is, wow! At the time, they encouraged people to visit later in the night to avoid the crowd.

They even added something new last year - more security cameras! They added extra security cameras throughout the grounds, as the event had been the victim of vandalism over the past few years.

Now, another season of Bentleyville is around the corner and setup begins this weekend! Organizers put out a post on their Facebook page Monday (September 19th), asking for volunteers for the first setup session of the season.

So what do volunteers do during these setups? Tasks range from painting, hauling and setting up displays, depending on your skill levels. Other items include hanging up string lights, setting up tunnels and more.

The official kickoff begins this Saturday (September 24th) and will continue every Saturday and Sunday until the event. Setup for those days will begin at 8:30 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m. There will also be setup nights on Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

It takes a village and then some to set up for Bentleyville every year but if you've ever even just driven by it on the highway, you know it is worth it. You can sign up to volunteer online on Bentleyville's website. Setup is on location at Bayfront Festival Park.

It should be noted that volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Lunch is provided to volunteers who help on the weekends. If you have any questions or comments regarding volunteering for the event, you can reach out to organizers at tim@bentleyvilleusa.org or by phone at 218-740-3535.

Bentleyville officially kicks off on November 19th and will continue through December 26th. As always, Santa and Mrs. Clause will be there, along with hot chocolate, cookies, marshmallows, bonfire pits and popcorn. Fingers crossed that the weather cooperates this year!

By the way, Bentleyville is a massive production, with six miles of rope lights used every year and over 12,000 extension cords used for the event. Even more interesting is all the things left behind or found at the event each year. Ha!
