Last year around this time, my wife and I brought the kids to Lester Park for a fun fall afternoon hiking around.  We were perplexed when we ran into a group of people dressed in fur and old pioneer clothing.  We shrugged our shoulders and moved on. A little later we ran into another group of people dressed in late 19th century clothing.  I guess it made sense that it was the 15th Annual Lester River Rendezvous taking place, and they are doing it again this year.

"Settlers and re-enactors have hands on stations that they explain everything how things were made in those days - their clothing, their cooking," he explained.

The Rendezvous runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday. To help with parking congestion, there is a free train shuttle. Visitors can park at either 26th or 46th Ave East and hop on the North Shore Scenic Railroad and ride it to the stop by Lester Park.

So if you're in the area and notice something strange, that's all it is.  Have fun!
