Will August Bring The Northland Some Much Needed Rain?
August is always exciting in the Northland because you never know exactly what it will bring. That is why I turn to the Old Farmer's Almanac prior to the first of the month to see what they are predicting.
So will it be the month that brings us some much-needed rain in the area or will we see sunshine and sweltering temperatures? Here's what the Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting:
- It will be the latter for the first few days of the month. Expect sunshine and warm temperatures from August 1st through the 4th.
- From August 5th through the 15th, expect temperatures to cool down a bit. This is when we can expect rain in the form of scattered thunderstorms.
- The next week or so will bring a little bit of everything. From August 16th through the 23rd, we will see hot temperatures turning cool over a course of a few days. We will see a little rain with isolated thunderstorm chances.
- From August 24th to the end of the month, expect showers and cool conditions.
The Old Farmer's Almanac predicts an average temperature of 65 degrees, which is just one degree below average. We will take it! They also state that we will see average rainfall for the month.
The Old Farmer's Almanac forecasts by region and makes long-term weather predictions by region. Some believe in their methods and others take it with a grain of salt. Either way, it doesn't hurt to read their predictions. It seems like they were pretty spot on for July, after all.
