I was talking with a friend of mine the other day, and he mentioned how his nephew saw something bizarre in the woods. His nephew spends a lot of time hunting and exploring the woods, and he came across some tracks that he'd never seen before.

He had taken some photos, and his uncle showed them to me. I have to admit, it looks strange, and I can't identify them. I'm not an expert tracker, but I know what deer tracks, wolf tracks, dog tracks, rabbit tracks, and some other signs are.

These tracks, to me, look like they have claws. Their size would be for a pretty large mammal. Could it be a bear? In the middle of winter? (This happened a while back.)

This one has me scratching my head. The teenager also ran across a pine tree that looked like something big had bedded down in it. That's pretty weird.

The pattern of the tracks is also bizarre. It kind of looks like spaced-out botches in the snow. Maybe it was an injured animal that was limping on all fours?

Then here comes the really weird part. There was a tree in the area where something large had hidden itself. Bigfoot? Probably not, but you never know.

Looking closer, he saw more signs of something hanging out in the tree's cover.

This has been the part I haven't been able to figure out. The weird tracks lead to this spot where something was crashing through. And it looks like whatever it was carried a piece of lumber in there. Right in the middle.

It happened near the Blueberry Swamp State Natural Area north of Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin.

If you have any ideas, I'm all ears. The teenager was a little freaked out by this and is open to any answers other outdoor enthusiasts might have.
