What Does A Silver Alert Mean In Minnesota + Wisconsin?
I was driving into work today when I saw the road sign on Highway 53/2 in Superior that said Silver Alert, call 511 for info.
I honestly had no idea what a silver alert was. Did it have to do with weather and road conditions? Is it something like an amber alert?
What is a silver alert?
I got to work and looked it up and found out that it is like an amber alert, but instead of children who are in danger, it's for senior citizens who are missing.
According to the Minnesota Legislature, a silver alert is issued to aid in the recovery of missing persons who are senior citizens with dementia, traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer's disease, or other mental disabilities.

Silver Alerts are unfortunately more common than you think.
