I've written a lot about my experience in Memphis earlier this month. I had the opportunity to visit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and learn about their efforts during their annual Country Cares seminar. It was an amazing experience to hear from doctors and patients there.

On the last night of the seminar, radio representatives and hospital staff were treated to a surprise special performance by Brad Paisley as part of the seminar's annual songwriter's dinner. It is safe to say I freaked out!

Before performing, Paisley was awarded the "Randy Owen Angels Among Us" award for everything he has done for St. Jude over the years. His giving ranges from hospital visits to hosting fishing tournaments for the hospital. He is always open about how much the cause means to him. He even wrote a song about it.

After accepting the honor, Paisley performed a set full of his hits, taking turns with Randy Owen. The tunes ranged from "Mud On The Tires" to a cut off his latest album called "Selfie" and a few other gems in between.

The best moment of the night, in my opinion, was when he performed "Old Alabama" with the subject of the song himself! Randy Owen joined in and helped him sing the tune. It was special to watch, especially because Paisley spent the whole night praising him and calling him his inspiration and icon.

It was cool to see one of my heroes perform with one of his and all of it for a very important cause. Thanks for a night I will never forget, St. Jude.
