Who would have thought that, going into this season, the Vikings could be in the hunt for the number one seed in the NFC? Most of us never heard of Sam Darnold before the season, and now we're all in with this nail-biter of a year.

One of the things the Vikings have been able to do is win one-score games. Did you see that Kevin O'Connell is creeping in on a 100-year NFL record for winning percentages in once-score games?

How do we feel about that? Would you rather see a team be able to dominate an opponent for the entirety of the game, or see a team that figures out how to win?

Either way, it's the season of vulnerability for Vikings fans. We let our guard down, and let our hope swell that maybe this could be the year. And then we get reminders like this:

Now that's just low. But, wait. I thought the Atlanta Falcons were the longest-running team without a championship in the Big 4 - NFL, NHL, NBA, and MLB. That would be fitting because even after they beat us in '98, they still ended up losing in the Super Bowl to the Denver Broncos. Which, by the way, Joe Buck did mention the '98 Vikings in a game a few weeks ago which is just taboo, man.

Technically, The Vikings Aren't The Oldest American Pro Sports Franchise Without A Championship

I did some digging, and you could still say the Falcons are the oldest team without a Championship because the Vikings did win the NFL Championship in 1969. This was before the NFL and AFL Merger which created the Super Bowl. So while the Vikings haven't won a Super Bowl, they have won a Championship. So take that, FOX NFL.

But seriously, Vikes. Get us a Super Bowl win.
