Vikings Agree To Terms With Tight End Carlson
While not a blockbuster deal, the Vikings have signed a free agent. Perhaps they are looking at the successful Patriots offense that features 2 talented tight ends and a great slot receiver in Wes Welker. This signing gives them 2 young and talented tight ends to put on the field with Percy Harvin.
The Vikings have two young pass-catching tight ends to work with now that former Seahawk and Minnesota native John Carlson agreed to terms just moments ago.
According to ESPN,
the deal is worth $25 million over five years. Assuming Carlson is healthy -- and it's safe to say a team wouldn't give him that kind of money if he wasn't -- the Vikings will have an intriguing duo of pass-catching tight ends in their 20s. Carlson, a second-round pick of the Seahawks in 2008, is 27. Kyle Rudolph, the Vikings' second-round pick in 2011, is 22.
