Minnesota's left lane law is now being enforced across the state, but many people still have questions regarding the law.  MnDOT has shared a video that should help.

One question that I hear pop up is about drivers who are in the left lane, but are traveling the speed limit or even faster and have a car drive up quickly behind them.

As the video explains, if you are in that position, you should safely move back into the right lane and let the car traveling faster go by. That will help prevent a road rage incident.  If you feel the faster driver is being reckless, you are encouraged to notify law enforcement when you can safely do so, or have a passenger make the call.

Travel safely out there and, of course, remember to also put your phones down whenever you're behind the wheel.
