National UFO Reporting Center Debunks Recent Duluth Sighting
Here's some weird news for your weekend: there may have been another UFO sighting in our neck of the woods.
UFOs (or whatever they are called these days) have become pretty mainstream. In fact, even talking about UFO sightings is hardly considered taboo anymore.
There have been a bunch of sightings over the years in Minnesota and Wisconsin and one of the most recent happened right here in Duluth!
Yup, a local spotted something spooky in the sky and reported it to the National UFO Reporting Center. Let's dig in.

This sighting happened on January 30th and was posted to the site the following day. According to the report, the sighting lasted about an hour and a half, which is pretty long if you think about it!

This object was seen by two locals, first spotted near the antenna farm in Duluth, continuing towards Brookston. There were lights on the object, along with a hazy aura around it. It was traveling very fast.
UFO Or Something Else?
Did you see something similar around this time frame? It might not be as spooky as you think. According to the UFO Reporting Center, Venus was prominent in the sky around that time, which becomes incredibly bright after sunset.

They continued, writing that it appears to move when you are driving because of how it is situated in the sky.
This can cause people to think that they are seeing something very supernatural, but it's likely not the case in this instance, writing:
This effect is common with Venus, which is often mistaken for a UFO because of its brightness and apparent motion when viewed from a moving vehicle.
I guess we will never know for sure but if you saw something like this in the Duluth sky earlier this year, this could be a pretty good explanation!
