Thomas Rhett took CMA Awards viewers on a nostalgic trip on Wednesday night (Nov. 13). The country star shared his song "Remember You Young" during the awards show.

With an orchestra perched on risers behind him, the Georgia native delivered the heartfelt song with perfection. Donning a black tux and an accompanying bow tie, Rhett exchanged smiles with many in the audience as he sang the song to all those who could relate to the tale of times gone by.

And while we were hoping that the camera would catch his adoring family in the crowd, it didn't. But they were there — wife Lauren and the singer's two daughters, plus one on the way — all looking their sparkling best.

A passage in the Bible inspired "Remember You Young" — really! Rhett tells Billboard that the verse "Always look at your wife in her youth" (Proverbs 5:18) stuck out to him.

"Remember You Young" is Rhett's second single from his newest studio album, Center Point Road. The album earned an Album of the Year nod at this year's CMA Awards, while Rhett himself also received a Male Vocalist of the Year nomination.
