The Renaissance Festival Is Guaranteed Family Fun [PHOTOS]

Despite the threat of severe thunderstorms, we ventured to the Minnesota Renaissance Festival this past weekend.  While it was windy, we managed to enjoy the shows, animals, shop, eat and drink before the rains hit.  This is truly a magical place that you can enjoy while you learn of the Renaissance era. 

The people make this event!  Not only do they have actors/actresses that dress up and "play the part", but many of the guests and visitors do the same so you just never know.  Their costumes are so authentic.  If the spirit so moves you, you can buy a costume thre and join in on the tradition. This family is from the Iron Range and are friends of mine and Ken's.

Even the animals dress the part and you CAN bring your dog.

When I say animals, I MEAN animals.  This is near the petting zoo and  live jousting.

Within the Renaissance you will enjoy Stage Shows.  Your family will be able to catch amazingly talented performers like The Danger Committee!  We got to catch this one.  Three guys that are hilarious while they juggle, throw knives and include the audience.  They have even been on America's Got Talent!

I totally recommend that you put this on your 'to do' list.  They are opened on weekends and are themed.  I'm sure you'll enjoy a magical day traveling back to the Renaissance era.
